  • Darren Coleman and Bradley Echols successfully prosecuted a covenant not to complete provision on behalf of an employer resulting in a permanent injunction and full recovery of attorney fees and costs from the former employee.  (Feb 2021)

  • Darren Coleman and Amy Miller successfully defended a municipal client from claims asserted by a vexatious litigant in federal court.  Upon a motion based upon extensive research and briefing, a federal judge barred the plaintiff from ever pursuing a claim in the Eastern District of Texas without first receiving written permission to file from a federal judge.  (Dec 2020)

  • Darren Coleman obtained summary judgment dismissal on a Fourteenth Amendment wrongful death claim for an individual client.  Following extensive discovery and briefing, the Federal District Court rendered judgment as a matter of law and dismissed the case with prejudice.  (October 2020)
  • Darren Coleman successfully prosecuted a breach of contract claim resulting in the recovery of almost one-half million dollars for the firm’s client.  In addition to recovering damages, the client also recovered all attorney fees and costs of court.  (October 2020)
  • Chris Botto became an associate attorney with Boon, Calk, Echols, Coleman & Goolsby, PLLC.   Chris’ practice will focus on civil litigation including commercial litigation, personal injury law, government and constitutional law. He is licensed to practice before all Texas state courts and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas. (October 2020)
  • Darren Coleman challenged the trial court’s jurisdiction over a lawsuit filed against the firm’s client in which the Plaintiff was seeking $250,000.00 in damages.  Following extensive briefing and oral arguments, the trial court dismissal the lawsuit entirely.  (August 2020)
  • Darren Coleman obtained a favorable settlement for a client who was wrongfully arrested.   Following dismissal of the wrongful criminal charges, Mr. Coleman pursued relief for the client under Federal civil rights statutes.   The case was successfully resolved shortly after filing of the federal lawsuit.   • Bradley Echols, Amy Miller and Darren Coleman obtained appellate court affirmation of a summary judgment granted in favor the firm’s client in a will contest.  Representing the proponent of a will, the firm’s attorneys successfully prosecuted the case and defeated all contests to the will resulting in a favorable recovery for the client.  (January 2020)
  • Amy Miller became a partner with Boon, Calk, Echols, Coleman & Goolsby, PLLC.  Amy Miller her practice on estate planning, probate, and general civil litigation.  She is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma, and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas, Eastern District of Oklahoma, and Western District of Arkansas.   • Darren Coleman obtained a trial verdict in favor of a municipality client.  The plaintiffs sued the municipality claiming personal injuries and damages in excess of $120,000.00.   Following a three day jury trial, the jury found for the municipality and awarded zero damages. (Sept. 2019)
  • Darren Coleman and Mitchell Young prevailed before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans on an employment law claim.  Mr. Coleman and Mr. Young successfully defended the case and obtained reversal of the federal trial court’s denial of qualified immunity for two public officials.
